Emptying ones closets of old clothes, useless papers, unnecessary dishes and all the other junk is very gratifying. It is nice to know, that the limited closet space one has is filled only with necessary things.. And of course everything recyclable is recycled. Also this is a nice way for one to get rid off the “burdens” of the past.On the other hand it is fun to acquire new/old and decorate our home, ponder about solutions that reflect the personalities and interest of both of us (often women tend to decorate homes by themselves and usually that is what the home looks like – a woman’s home:)). It is nice to purchase things for US, which in their part bind us more tightly together and to our joint project, our family. Belongings that we have in our home tell a tale of our relationship, our journey together. Our home is our nest, which reflects us and that is where we feel most comfortable.

Kaappien tyhjentäminen vanhoista vaatteista, hyödyttömistä papereista, tarpeettomista astioista ja kaikenmaailman romusta on erittäin tyydyttävää. On mukava tietää, että rajallinen kaappitila on varattu vain tarpeellista varten.. Ja että tietysti kaikki käyttökelpoinen menee kierrätykseen. On myös ihanaa päästä tällä tavoin menneisyyden ”painolasteista” eroon.
Toisaalta on ihana hankkia uutta/vanhaa ja sisustaa yhteistä kotia yhdessä, miettiä mitkä ratkaisut kuvastaisivat molempien persoonia sekä kiinnostuksen kohteita (naiset kun usein tuppaavat sisustamaan kodin itsekseen, jolloin se usein näyttää juuri siltä, naisen kodilta:)). On ihanaa hankkia yhteisiä tavaroita, jotka omalta osaltaan sitovat meitä yhä tiukemmin yhteen sekä yhteiseen projektiimme, omaan perheeseemme. Tavarat, joita kodissamme on, kertovat meidän suhteestamme, yhteisestä matkastamme. Meidän kotimme on oma pesämme, joka kuvastaa meitä ja jossa meillä on hyvä olla.
