Tip of the day: when buying eggs, open the packet and roll every egg in there. If one of the eggs doesn't move, it is probably broken.

An egg might get broken in the packing process, and you might not notice it because the egg looks perfect, except when you try to take it out of the packet and it then brakes apart.

Herbs/salads sold in a pot freeze easily during wintertime, when bringing them from the store to home, no matter how carefully you try to protect them (frostbite usually becomes visible only the next day, from blackend leaves and flaccid general appereance).

When you place herbs/salads in their pots standing into warm water (cut the botton from the plastic cover, but leave the rest in place, to keep the plant firm) right away when at home, they survive perfectly.

Ruukkuyrtit/salaatit paleltuvat pakkasaikaan helposti matkalla kaupasta kotiin, suojasipa ne kuinka hyvin tahansa (paleltumisen huomaa yleensä vasta seuraavana päivänä, mustuneista ja nuupahtaneista lehdistä).

Kun laitat ruukkuyrtit/salaatit "seisomaan" lämpimään veteen (leikkaa muovisen suojapussin pohja pois, mutta jätä muuten pussi paikoilleen, se pitää kasvin ryhdissä) heti kotiin saapuessasi, säilyvät ne täydellisesti.
