Hint of the day, that has been proved to be excellent through empirical experiences.Herbs/salads sold in a pot freeze easily during wintertime, when bringing them from the store to home, no matter how carefully you try to protect them (frostbite usually becomes visible only the next day, from blackend leaves and flaccid general appereance).
When you place herbs/salads in their pots standing into warm water (cut the botton from the plastic cover, but leave the rest in place, to keep the plant firm) right away when at home, they survive perfectly.

Ruukkuyrtit/salaatit paleltuvat pakkasaikaan helposti matkalla kaupasta kotiin, suojasipa ne kuinka hyvin tahansa (paleltumisen huomaa yleensä vasta seuraavana päivänä, mustuneista ja nuupahtaneista lehdistä).
Kun laitat ruukkuyrtit/salaatit "seisomaan" lämpimään veteen (leikkaa muovisen suojapussin pohja pois, mutta jätä muuten pussi paikoilleen, se pitää kasvin ryhdissä) heti kotiin saapuessasi, säilyvät ne täydellisesti.
