Allways falling in and out of love

"The true difference between love and infatuation is that infatuation can be blown away by single gush of wind."

The broadminded view

We humans seem to have an inborn need to believe in something. Some base their whole life on believing in human kindness. Some believe in meanness. Some believe in a diet of some sort or love, relationship, work, exercise, shopping, alcohol or sex. But out of all beliefs only religion makes one go out to the streets and squares to spread their conviction. Why is that?

Still it often feels that ones belief in something is as strong as any religion. Same ecstatic feeling that is often connected with religion can easily be associated with any belief. Many of us knows closely for example an Atkins-believer or perhaps a work/achievementholic who just can’t stop japing about the most important content in their lives. Person like this often want others to believe in their choices and “convert” others to follow them. But usually this is as far as their conversion work goes (unlike some religious people) or perhaps some spreading of the word in the internet’s web forums :)

But only the religious ecstasy can make one leave ones job /education and preach in the metro to perfect strangers. When one believes in something one tends to think that that belief will save one, change ones life and generally make life and them better. How ever, often that does not happen, not even to religious people. What is there to do, when one looses ones beliefs and conviction? Should one try to find new, better things to believe in to, or give up believing altogether?
--------------------
Ihmisellä tuntuu olevan sisäsyntyinen tarve uskoa johonkin. Jotkut perustavat elämänsä siihen, että he uskovat ihmisten hyvyyteen. Toiset pahuuteen.

Varmaan monilla meistä on lähipiirissään esim.

Fry me for an oyster

Some time ago a person said to me that the real test of a relationship between to people is travelling together and I really do think that statement is true.. When travelling together ones characteristics and quarks come to surface. Worst scenario is of course that two people with totally different views on travelling end up taking a trip together. So what are the things that can cause a drift?

If one is fussy about schedules and timetables and the other leaves everything to the last moment (packing, arriving to the airport..). Or if the other is enthusiastic achiever, who is determent to see everything and the other want’s to enjoy the moment, with out any pressure and rush. Or if others passions are directed to something special, witch does not interest the other that much. Or if other travels with happy sprits and other does not. Or if other wants to eat well and other does not. The list is endless..

If one wants to make sure that ones trip and holiday is a success and thoroughly enjoyable, one needs to select ones travel companion with care. Perfect mach would be finding someone, whose ideas and thoughts regarding travelling come to with ones own. Then travelling is at its best: relaxing, new experiences and wonderful memories for the rest of your life..
--------
Millaiset asiat sitten voivat aiheuttaa skismoja?

On the buses

Woman 1: "There I was standing and going through my purse over and over.. And the driver just wouldn't start.. I was getting really anxious and then I really panicked when I thought that everyone had to wait because of me and then I just bought a ticket.."
Women 2: "Perhaps he thought you didn't have the ticket? And that's why he didn't start?"
Woman 1: "Then I went to sit all the way back in bus and started really go trough my purse.. And there it was, of course. I was really pissed."
Women 2: " I have sometimes stood on a bus stop waiting, an noticed that I've got keys in my hand as if you could get in with those!"
Woman 1: "Yeah, well I've stood in front of my homedoor waving a buspass."
Women 2: "Perhaps it's just the thought, that you something in your hand, that gets you in somewhere.."
----------------

It's a pity

Being happy and friendly can really bite you in the ass. For some reason, from what I’ve noticed and experienced first hand, some people are attracted to cheerful people. One gets noticed for being happy and this attention is many times brought to ones attention. Perhaps people want to get close to someone, whom to them seems to be enjoying life? Or perhaps they feel that when associating themselves with someone joyful, that bright spirit will catch up with them too? Or is it just that so many people are miserable and sad in their own lives, that when someone, whom to them seems most of the time to be glad and elated just catches their eye and they fall for them? They just want to get a part of that exuberant personality..

The most difficult aspect of this whole thing is how to make people understand that happy sprits and friendly manners are not flirt directed to anyone. It is very troublesome to turn people down because they have misinterpreted ones behaviour. When something like that happens, one starts to feel self-conscious and analyze situations forehand, in fear of these misinterpretations. Should one put a lid on ones behaviour and try to be less happy?
-------

Pain in the neck

Pain, how it disturbs the day! It´s only slight pain in the neck, but still it disempowers you. You feel like you can´t concentrate or move yourself. Normal day in front of the computer feels like punishment.

On the other hand without pain healthy and good days would lose some of their effect. What makes pain tolerable is knowing that it will end soon or atleast after a short while. You just have to take care of yourself. What if pain is constant? It´s hard for young and healthy person to set him/herself to a role of a person who has to live with constant pain. Especially if you´re living busy and active life. It´s hard to think that your living and existance is defined by pain and dealing with it from day to day. You just have to be thankful that you´re healthy.

--------------

How can someone living a double life live with themselves? Or others for that matter? How can one live with with ones secret identity, the one they want to conceal from everyone? How can one live with ones actions, that one can't admit to one self, let a lone to others? How about when ones actions are revealed to others? Can one admit to one self or others? What happens to one, if they never can face up to their hidden selfs?

What is the life like behind closed doors? Is one able to change ones personality according to the situation? Can one ”stay in the character”? Do others believe the ”show”? And what is worst, does one believe oneself when performing? Does one own up to ones lies, is one always able to explain everything right for oneself? One has to, otherwise they can not go on... Or can one anyway? How many of us lives a secret life?

A link for the fictional interpretation of the subject..

-----------

Millaista elämä on salattujen ovien takana? Miten pystyy muuttaamaan persoonaansa tilanteen vaatimalla tavalla? Pystyykö pysymään "roolissa"? Uskovatko muut esityksen? Ja mikä pahinta, uskooko sen itse? Turtuuko omille valheilleen, jaksaako aina selitellä kaiken itselleen parhain päin.. Pakko on, muuten ei pysty jatkamaan.. Vai pystyykö sittenkään? Kuinka moni meistä viettää salattua kaksoiselämää?

One moment

In one of my favorite movies (Hannnah and her sisters) by one of my favorite directors (Woody Allen) there is a quote from poet E.E. Cummings poem.

Bean, I think he writes of the way I feel about you..
------------------
Erään lempiohjaajani (Woody Allen) eräässä lempielokuvista (Hannah ja sisaret) lainataan E.E. Cummings 'in runoa.

Papuseni, hän taitaa kirjoittaa tunteistani sinua kohtaan...

[somewhere i have never travelled]

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously) her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

Rotten day

Oh, how I miss summer so! Today, when Helsinki turned in to a winter wonderland (do you notice a hint of sarcasm in the air?) I was dreaming of sunshine and colours. Here is a lovely little memento from Midsummer's Eve of 2007 which I spent with little Bean..

An added atraction

Physical attraction between two people, it is either there or it isn't. A relationship without sexual desire may very well survive, but somehow it feels very sad, especially if we are talking about young and healthy people. Lust may be a mortal sin, but it is a sin I commit with pleasure. Once you have found your ideal partner you desire, lust feels more then an added atraction in a relationship. It makes ones relationship complete.
--------
