Well, this settles it

There is slight(!) enthusiasm in the air - we are already planning Christmas :)

When we moved in together, it was obvious to us both, that from that moment forward we wanted to spend holidays between our own family. Even though there are no children in our family, we wanted to form our own traditions and (for example) spend Chrismas just the way we wanted. Our former partners wouldn't hear any of that and so holidays were spent travelling here and there, all stressed out and operated on other peoples conditions and timetables. Thanks, but no thanks!

So now we are pondering about this years Christmas decorations, foods & drinks. Our table setting will be something new of course, but the foods will probably be traditional and familiar: first the fish courses, then the Christmas ham & casseroles etc. Perhaps some cheese for afters..?

And at least one guest has agreed to come and delight our home with her presence :)

Lievää(!) innostusta havaittavissa - tulevaa joulua suunnitellaan jo B&C:n kodissa :)

Kun muutimme yhteen, meille oli selvää, että siitä hetkestä eteenpäin halusimme viettää juhlapyhät oman perheemme kesken. Vaikkei perheeseemme kuulukaan lapsia, haluamme muodostaa omat perinteemme ja viettää (esimerkiksi) joulua juuri siten, kuin itse haluamme. Aiemmat kumppanimme eivät olleet halukkaita moiseen ja pyhät kuluivat ristiin rastiin reissatessa, stressaten ja muiden ehdoilla sekä aikatauluilla toimien. Ei kiitos moiselle!

Nyt siis mietinnän alla joulun 2009 kattaus, ruuat & juomat. Kattaus on taas jotain uutta, mutta ruuat lienevät pääsääntöisesti tuttuja: alkuun kalapöytä, sitten perinteinen kinkku & laatikot etc. Ja loppuun ehkä juustoja..?

Ja ainakin yksi vieras on lupautunut meitä ilahduttamaan :)

He was little over my knee-height, had just learned to walk without assistance and didn't speak a word yet.

But what he knew, he knew with all of his knowledge: it's great to have so many showers and the most important thing is to try them all.

It was he who led the liveliest sallies

This weekend will be spent eating yummy foods, cuddling and being silly.

Today Bean bathes in one of Helsinki's public saunas (and Crumpet waterjoggs 'till she drops), after which we'll dine in Soul Kitchen (reservation highly recomended).

Saturday we'll take a morning dip into the pool, lunch in Spaghetteria (or Spagsu as we like to call it), then we are on our way Up (we've been dying to see the film, after we saw the trailer in N.Y.). After the movie some well deliberated shopping in Stockmann and take away -sushi for the evening. Mmm, laying on our couch and cuddling.

Sunday another dip and some pelmeni and general relaxation..

Sounds about just right..

Tuleva viikonloppu kuluu herkuttelun, hellimisen & hömpöttelyn merkeissä.

Tänään Papu saunoo hyvän ystävänsä kanssa yhdessä Helsingin yleisistä saunoista (ja Murukki molskii sielunsa kyllyydestä), jonka jälkeen illallistamme Soul Kitchen'issä (jonne pöytävarauksen tekeminen on erittäin suositeltavaa).

Lauantaina aamu-uintia, lounas Spaghetteriassa (eli Spagsussa) ja sitten Up (olemme odottaneet elokuvaa siitä asti, kun Nykissä näimme elokuvan trailerin). Leffan jälkeen muutamia pitkään harkittuja ostoksia Stockannilta ja illaksi sushia kotiin.. Mmm, kotisohvalle lököilemään ja halimaan.

Sunnuntaina uintia ja pelmenejä sekä yleistä rentoutumista..

Kuulostaa parahultaiselta..
